Christmas carols always begin with cosmogonic carols about the creation of the World, and then praise all family members with personal wishes for each. It has recently been established that songs have their own energy. Interestingly, the oldest Ukrainian songs have great energy. And the most interesting thing is that the greatest energy is precisely in carols and Christmas gifts. It is recorded in Roman chronicles that this is such an ancient rite of the Etruscans that only the most gifted Magi comprehend its original essence. And this means that the age of these songs is at least 5000-7000 years. It is interesting that the bounties were preserved only in Ukraine. The ancient customs and rites of our people are beginning to return from oblivion and silence. Most people still know them very poorly. But there is no present without the past.

Особенно у южных славян обязательно Рождество сопровождалось "подняком" - полено, у которого хозяин торжественно, со всеми жертвоприношениями - просил прощения, что должен был срубить это дерево, осыпал зерном этот пенек, обмазывал тестом, и потом приносил в дом, где торжественно его сжигали. Эти моменты и вероятно начали использование позже елки. Так постепенно мы и выходим на сегодняшний ритуал – использование елки.

Why carolers dress up as animals, foreigners and otherworldly creatures According to the idea of ancient people, the other world is, as it were, this world turned upside down. And accordingly, the representatives of that world are the same as us, but a little different. And accordingly, the carolers changed their clothes according to categories - "alien", otherworldly. It could not be a person, but an animal, that's how those animal images appeared in groups of carolers. It could be "strangers" by category - foreigner, that's how we have, for example, "German". These may not be people, but in general – demonic beings, so the carolers wrapped their hands with straw, stood on stilts or, conversely, squatted down, spoke in very deep, low voices, or, on the contrary, very squeaky.
