Christmas carols begin to be sung exactly at midnight before the New Year. They should not be mixed with carol singing. At a time when carols are always and necessarily sung by a choir, then shdervkas can be performed solo.

Today's tradition of celebrating Christmas has been preserved despite all the Soviet bans and persecutions, we are moving to the world custom of celebrating Christmas. Как только на небе восходила Заря, колядники ходили от дома к дому, чтобы известить людей о рождении нового Солнца, и изображения этого солнца носили с собой ("рождественская звезда"). Эта традиция сохранилась и по сей день. Заходили во двор, будили хозяина и пели его семье величественных песен о солнце, луне, звездах. Эти песни и стали называть колядками или колядками.
