As soon as Zorya rose in the sky, carolers went from house to house to inform people about the birth of the new Sun, and the image of this sun was carried with them ("Christmas star"). This tradition has survived to this day. They went into the yard, woke up the owner and sang majestic songs about the sun, moon, and stars to his family. These songs came to be called carols or carols.

Почему в древние времена колядников связывали с потусторонним миром В настоящее время граница между мирами становится насколько тонкой, что происходит переход между ними. Также это связано и с чествованием умерших. С одной стороны, к умершим относились с колоссальным уважением, уважением и их, словно приветствовали этот переход. С другой – это немного страшно. Надо было каким-то образом уберечься от них. Это привело к появлению этих групп переодевавшихся колядников, которые проводили символические действа – словно приход в наш мир тех умерших предков. Группы колядников, которые приходили к господу, как раз и символизировали тех представителей потустороннего мира – души умерших, которые в это время возвращаются на Землю. И потому их ждали в каждом доме, верили что там, где ступит нога колядника, там не ступит нога мертвеца.

All this is sung about in carols, which were known long before the beginning of Christian times in Ukraine, it is also found in ordinary rituals, such as: twelve wormwood, twelve Christmas Eve dishes, calling for a dinner of frost, a wolf, a black storm and evil winds, grandfather on penance, hay on the table. All these movements, actions and words, which at first glance have no meaning in a person's life, blow on the heart of each of us with the charm of the native element and are a living balm for the soul that fills it with powerful strength.
